Fire lights are quite important for many different reasons. In fact, these lights are highly popular for providing effective lighting required during fire fighting missions. These lights are used in several different capacities. You will need emergency lights firstly to caution everyone around to pull off and make way for the vehicles of volunteers who are heading for the fire rescue operation. A flashing, warning signal is important to get the attention of others who could impede the path of the fire engines and firefighting vehicles. You will also need these lights to clear out the area affected by fire for safety reasons.

One of the most important attributes of Fire lights is their high intensity beams which can be seen even through smoke and haze. High visibility is an important criterion for these lights as they should help the fire fighters spot injured victims through the smoke, flames and rubble. If the lights are not of high intensity they would not be able to assist firefighters especially during the night. The high intensity beams should also provide extensive coverage so that firefighters can draw their rescue plan quickly by assessing the situation.

Fire lights should be easy to carry. They should be lightweight in spite of their bright light and built-in flashing patterns. In fact, they will prove to be extremely handy if they come with hands-free operational mechanism so that firefighters can be more effective. Carrying the light with one hand and trying to help others could always prove to be a tough challenge. Sometimes, it could lower the productivity of the firefighters too. Some advanced fire lighting equipment comes with the equipment using which they can be clamped to the helmets of the firefighters. They have to be extremely lightweight in order to be clamped to the helmets and yet secured safely. The chassis of such lights is made of sturdy, but lightweight materials like aluminum or aluminum alloys. Clamping the lights to the helmets proves to be much more helpful as far as fire rescue operations are concerned.

Fire lights should be effective when it comes to heat dissipation. LED lights are known for their low energy consumption and part of the credit goes to their ability to waste less energy in the form of heat dissipation. Fire lighting equipment should be able to remain cool even in hot temperatures, as could be the case when there is fire or plenty of smoke around. Moreover, the lighting equipment used by firefighters should be made of extruded aluminum so that the heat dissipation is very efficient. Thermal management is very important for lighting used by firefighters. This is because although LEDs are very energy efficient and provide bright output, their efficiency tends to decrease at high temperatures. The lights used by firefighters would also benefit with the use of chrome deflectors which help in providing better lighting in the desired direction. Sometimes frosted lenses are also used in order to spread the beams emanating from LEDs for wide angle coverage.
